Celebrating the life of

Reba Padgett Murray

Passed away on December 16, 2023

Reba Padgett Murray

Reba Murray, 83, of Savannah, GA, died on December 16, 2023, in her home surrounded by family. She was born on February 22, 1940, in Augusta, GA.

Reba went by many titles: Mom, Mema, Burr Rabbit, Aunt, Best Friend, Sister, and Confidant. Whether you knew her for 5 minutes or 50 years, the love she gave was warm and immense. She had a love of arts, her family, dancing, fishing, animals, and having the best time. She lived her life with a carefree spirit that was infectious. There wasn’t a dance floor undanced on, a canvas not painted, a microphone not sung into, an ocean not traversed, a kitchen not full of aromas and love, a hug not given and laughter not echoing throughout every encounter. She is a light that we will all miss so deeply.

Reba is survived by her children, Christy Fulcher (Robbie), Kelly Harris, Erik Harris and Shawn Harris. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Quinton Harris (Sarah), Garon Smoak (Kelly), Chandler Smoak-Curry (Demitri), Bubba Poole, Dawson Harris, Justin Harris and Chancey Riggins (Dale). Lastly, she is survived by her great-grandchildren are MiKaela Harris, Blakely and Coby Riggins, Emelia, and Josephine Curry, several nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sister-in-law, Robert John, and Sue Padgett, brother-in-law, Jim Harris, her grandson, Coby Plowden, her niece Nancy Padgett and her dogs, Cricket, Fergie, and Hunter.

A celebration in her honor will be held in February 2024 for her birthday. Details will be sent out immediately.

Our family would like to thank Hospice Savannah, her nurse Liz, and her CNA Patricia for all the love and wonderful care. Memorials or donations may be made to Hospice Savannah in her honor, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.

Aunt Reba was an Amazing Woman. I think its safe to say she never met a stranger. Michael Martin introduced me to her when I came with him to Savannah for St. PATTY'S DAY Weekend a few years back. Aunt Reba handed me a bloody mary, gave me hug and said welcome to the family, ,Im your Aunt Reba. Her voice was a slow southern Savannah drawl that states class that automatically made you fall in love with her. This is who she was to me! I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SOO MUCH!!
